Scope

1.1 This standard specifies requirements and methods of sampling and tests for porcelain insulators for overhead power lines with a nominal voltage up to and including 1 000 V. Both pin and shackle type insulators are covered. 1.2 It does not apply to insulators forming part of electrical apparatus or to porcelain parts used in their construction.
