1.1 This standard (Part II) covers essential ratings and characteristics and other information to be specified in the case of low power semiconductor signal diodes including switching diodes.
1.1.1 These diodes do not participate in the transformation of substantial amounts of energy but are used in the processing of electronic signals.
1.1.2 Rectifier diodes and rectifier stacks are not covered by this standard [see IS:3700 (Part III )-1967〓 and IS : 2511-1963〓].
1.1.3 This standard is not intended to cover diodes designed to operate at frequencies above several hundred MHz, that is, vhf, uhf, microwave, etc.
