1.1 This standard lays down the procedure for collection and preparation of samples from a lot of manganese ore in order to determine size distri-bution, moisture content and chemical composition of the ore in the lot. Sampling of ore from conveyor belt, from loaded rail wagons/trucks, from ship's holds and from stockpiles have been considered separately. This standard is primarily intended for manual sampling.
1.2 This standard also includes a method for reporting the quality of the bulk of the ore sampled.
