Prescribes the methods of sampling under normal inspection and the criteria for conformity for non-threaded fasteners, such as rivets, cotter pins, cylindrical and taper pins, and washers. It also provides for changeover to tightened and reduced inspection. The classification of defects in the categories of major and minor defect for various types of fasteners for which Indian Standards have been issued, is given in Appendix A.
