1.1 This standard covers positive list of constituents of styrene polymers, namely, the polymers, residual monomers, catalysts, emulsifying agents, suspension agents, miscellaneous polymerization additives like process oxidants, and chain transfer agents, polymerization ingredients and auxiliary items for working which may be regarded as safe for use, when properly processed, in contact with foodstuffs, pharmaceuticals and drinking water and when present in the prescribed limits of concentration.
1.2 The positive list does not purport to establish the suitability of the ingredient singly in a particular foodstuff from other than toxicological considerations.
