Scope

This standard ( Part 1 ) lays down the various forces acting on surface penstocks and structural design of penstocks conveying water under pressure flow conditions. However, this does not cover specials of pen-stocks like penstock supports, manifolds, bends, expansion joints, manholes, branch outlets, etc.
