This standard describes reference methods of test for determining deleterious substances or groups of substances in the following fibrous
electrical insulating materials:
a) cotton., g) regenerated cellulose,
b) acetylated cotton, h) cellulose acetate,
c) wool, j) synthetic polymers,
d) silk, k) paper,
e) jute, m) asbestos, and
f) flax, n) glass.
1.2 This standard does not apply to materials which have been given a finishing treatment, such as coating, waxing or polishing.
