Scope

This standard covers the requirements for butt welded and seamless screwed and socketed and plain end mild steel tubes intended for ordinary uses in steam, water, gas and air lines. Only ' medium ' and ' heavy ' tubes are recommended for carrying steam. The maximum permissible pressures and temperatures for different sizes of tubes for conveying steam are given in Appendix A.
