Scope

This standard (Part IV) covers the requirements of design, construc-tion, performance and testing of automatic and non-automatic medium pressure acetylene generators to be employed in oxy-acetylene welding, cutting or cylinder filling and any other chemical process. It covers stationary generators producing acetylene at pressures not exceeding 1 550 H2O cm (= 1·55 kgf/cm2 = 152 kPa ) of carbide-to-water type and water-to-carbide type ( with formation of lime paste).
