Scope

1.1 This standard (Part II) covers the test methods for determination of the properties which are inherent in the brush material. 1.2 It does not cover the performance characteristics of the carbon brushes in operation on electrical equipment. Note— Values of physical properties published in catalogues of the manufacturers or brush material shall be based upon test methods given in this standard and shall be subject to the tolerances specified in this standard. It may be noted that the values of tolerances specified are the maximum values and those may be reduced suitably for a particular application, if considered necessary and agreed to between the user and the supplier.
