Bl This standard establishes the procedures to be followed for the extraction of samples intended for testing various types of liquid, semi-solid and solid bitumen, whether stored, during loading and unloading or during application. B-2 This standard indicates procedures that can be applied to asphalt emulsions, petroleum asphalts, tars and pitches. B-3 Given the multiple conditions and circumstances that may arise in the different cases of bitumen sample extraction, it is accepted that in certain particular cases judgment and personal experience prevail, but always taking into consideration the general directives given in this standard. B-4 When it is necessary to establish special conditions for certain products, they will be indicated in the respective standards, following the prescriptions of this standard in what is not established in them.
