Bl This standard establishes the relationships to convert the kinematic viscosity values of petroleum products into commonly used empirical viscosity units (Saybolt, Redwood and Engler) but is not applicable for the conversion of said empirical units into kinematic units or for the comparison of said empirical units among themselves (see Hl). Note: The conversion of empirical units into kinematic units has considerable errors due to the inherent inaccuracy of the methods and can only be approximated.
