1. This standard is applicable to all elevator shafts and machine rooms intended for the transportation of passengers or cargo. 2. It is not applicable, among others, to: hand elevators, funiculars, rosary elevators (paternoster), capacho elevators, rack elevators, mine elevators, theatrical machinery, amusement facilities, curtains or drawbridges, elevators that are used in the handling of construction materials and other uses inherent to building work.
