This specification applies to metric series, carbon steel tooth lock washers for general purpose applications and suitable for use only with right-hand screw threaded products, and of —
(a) the loose type, for normal over-the-thread applications, and
(b) the captive type, as part of a pre-assembled screw and washer assembly.
NOTE: Captive lock washers are suitable for use only with fasteners having either ISO Metric coarse series threads, or spaced tapping screw threads.
