Scope

This standard applies to products made by hot processing such as hot rolling and hot forging, and usually further processing such as forging, cutting, and cold drawing, as well as quenching, tempering, normalizing, and carburizing. Specifies alloy steel materials (hereinafter referred to as steel materials) that undergo heat treatment and are used primarily for mechanical structures.
