Scope

This International Standard specifies requirements and gives recommendations for the design, performance, manufacture and testing of subsea drilling riser tube connectors. The connector capacity rating is established to allow the grouping of different models, taking into account the maximum stress generated under a specific level of loading, and regardless of manufacturer or assembly method. This International Standard has a direct link to API RP 16 Q which provides guidelines for the design, selection and operations related to drilling riser pipe.
