Scope

This standard specifies that inhaling particulate matter (hereinafter referred to as dust) and toxic gases and vapors (hereinafter referred to as toxic gas) floating in the air at workplaces and other places may have a harmful effect on the human body. This section specifies filtering type respirators with electric fans (hereinafter referred to as PAPR) for use in areas where there is a risk of harmful effects.
