This part specifies the general characteristics of pantographs used for main line rolling stock to collect current from contact networks. It also specifies the tests that should be carried out on pantographs (except insulators). This section does not apply to the dielectric test of the pantograph, which is a test performed on the pantograph installed on the roof of the vehicle. This section does not apply to pantographs used in subway and light rail vehicle systems. For pantographs on subway and light rail vehicles, see GB/T 21561.2-2008.
