- This International Standard applies to coaxial connectors for electrical instruments used in nuclear laboratories. While particularly useful in such applications, the connectors included in this standard are also useful in other applications. However, this standard does not necessarily apply to nuclear power installations where special requirements may necessitate the use of other connectors, some of which (e.g. types N and TNC) are described in various parts of IEC 60169.
