Scope: This part of GB/T 18838 specifies the classification and marking of metal abrasives (hereinafter referred to as metal abrasives) used for blast cleaning steel surfaces before coating. This section applies to the marking of unused metal abrasives. Note 1: Although this part of ISO 11124 was developed specifically to meet the requirements for the preparation of steel components, the characteristics specified are also generally applicable to surfaces and components of other materials treated by blast cleaning techniques. These techniques have been specified in IS0 8504-2:2000 ((Methods of Surface Preparation of Steel Surfaces Before Application of Paint Part 2: Abrasive Blasting Cleaning).
