Scope
This standard specifies the functional architecture of MAPLE - Manufacturing Automation Programming Environment. MAPLE is a common, vendor-neutral, neutral support facility for programming a wide variety of manufacturing equipment and controllers. Therefore, MAPLE provides a single programming environment for a variety of devices and controllers, which do not necessarily have to be supplied by the same company. Moreover, MAPLE does not need to specify specific devices and controls when programming. When it comes to the programming of manufacturing equipment and controllers, MAPLE supports the following aspects: - connection of various manufacturing data and manufacturing application programs; - management of various manufacturing databases; - integration of manufacturing application programs and manufacturing software tools shared. Scope of this standard: Applicable to the following users of the MAPLE standard: - Developers of manufacturing applications; - Operators who edit manufacturing programs; - Engineers who need to quote manufacturing data; Manufacturing application system integrators.
