Scope

This standard applies to electronic ballasts (hereinafter referred to as ballasts) for fluorescent lamps with a rated input frequency of 60 Hz, a rated input voltage of less than 300 V, a rated secondary voltage of less than 1,000 V, and an operating frequency different from the input frequency.
