- This standard specifies the performance and safety of self-contained gas mixers intended for medical use and intended for connection to medical gas supply systems. The reasons for some of the regulations are listed in Appendix B. This standard does not apply to: (1) Flow meter groups that can individually control the flow of each gas; (2) Gas mixers that mix oxygen and ambient air; (3) Relying on other medical equipment to achieve the functions required by this standard
