- 1.1 This standard specifies visual and tactile methods for evaluating the grade of surface contours cleaned by mineral sand or steel ball blasting. This method uses the ISO surface profile reference standard plate to evaluate the surface roughness before painting or other protective treatments on site. Note: When appropriate, the ISO surface profile reference standard plate can be used to evaluate the surface profile roughness of other abrasive blast cleaning.
