Scope

This standard specifies the determination of total acidity of organic substances and hydrocarbons used in paints, varnishes and thinners. The concentration range is below 0.05% and is expressed in acetic acid. This standard is also applicable to the determination of low molecular weight saturated and unsaturated alcohols, ketones, ethers, esters, hydrocarbon diluents, light oil and other light petroleum fractions.
