- This standard applies to light emitting diode (LED) traffic signal lamp surfaces and light boxes for outdoor use. It includes specifications and test methods for the optical, electrical characteristics, and light box structure of the lamp surface. The types of signal lamp surfaces include traffic control signals. There are three types of traffic lights: traffic lights, lane control traffic lights and pedestrian traffic lights.
