- This standard applies to the materials, design, construction and function required for drinking water treatment systems at the point of use and entry (hereinafter referred to as the system), establishing minimum requirements that are provided as a public or Private drinking water. This standard specifies systems that provide for the reduction of substances that affect the drinkability of water or the addition of chemicals to control scale formation, or both.
