DIN 58940-84:2002 Medical microbiology - Susceptibility testing of microbial pathogens to antimicrobial agents - Part 84: Microdilution; Special requirements for testing of fungi against antifungal agents
Together with DIN 58940-8, this document specifies the in vitro testing of the susceptibility of fungi to antifungal agents by broth dilution. The minimal inhibitory concentration (MIC) of fungi is determined by microdilution; the aim is to obtain reproducible interlaboratory and comparable intralaboratory results. At present, this method is suitable only for testing blastomycetes.
