This standard specifies the technical requirements, test methods, inspection rules, signs, packaging, transportation, storage and shelf life of food additives such as glyceryl distearate and monostearate. This standard is applicable to products containing glyceryl mono-stearate and a small amount of glyceryl tri-stearate produced by the reaction of hydrogenated palm oil or stearic acid with glycerin, which are used as emulsifiers in the food industry.
