This standard specifies methods for calibrating measurement equipment that measures the optical power emitted from common light sources used in fiber optic communications. These light sources include laser diodes, LEDs, and fiber-optic output sources, and can accommodate both diffuse radiation or collimated beams. This standard is intended for use by calibration laboratories or manufacturers of optical power meters.
