This standard specifies a series of digitization processes in the life cycle of paper and microfilm documents, including digitization, storage, utilization, disposal, quality control, and security measures. This International Standard does not apply to documents in which color identification is an important component. The security measures for electronic documents are specified in Annex A, and the storage and periodic inspections are specified in Annex B.
