Scope

This part of GB/T 778 specifies the terms and definitions, technical characteristics, metering characteristics and pressure loss requirements for drinking cold water meters and hot water meters. This part applies to water meters with a maximum allowable working pressure (MAP) greater than or equal to 1MPa, gas pipeline nominal diameter DN≥500mm (0.6MPa), a maximum allowable working temperature (MAT) of 30°C for drinking cold water meters, and a maximum of 30°C for hot water meters. Various water meters up to 180°C. This part of GB/T 778 is also applicable to water meters based on electrical or electronic principles and based on mechanical principles with electronic devices for measuring the actual volume flow of drinking cold water and hot water. This section also applies to electronic auxiliary devices that are usually optional. The technical conditions in this part of GB/T 778 apply to water meters defined as totalizing meters that use any technology to continuously measure the volume of water flowing through them.
