- This standard defines and enables middleware for the provision and open exchange of information by different software systems related to technical information systems (TIS). These software systems can be mainly divided into the following categories: PDM, CAD, CAPP, etc. The open intermediate interface can be used to support many other software systems related to modern design engineering, such as CAE, CAM, etc., and can also support management information such as ERP system. This standard is applicable to guide enterprises to define the dynamic interface of different software in the process of implementing technical information integration or as a reference for judging the degree of integration when purchasing related software.
