This standard specifies two methods of heating thermoplastic pipes in liquid (Method A) or in air (Method B) to determine the thermal elasticity of thermoplastic pipes. If the two methods are not agreed to be defined, method A shall be used as the standard method. This standard applies to all thermoplastic pipes with smooth internal and external surfaces and constant cross-sectional area. It does not apply to thermoplastic pipes with non-smooth structural walls (e.g. ring-shaped).
