Scope: This standard specifies the product classification, technical requirements, test methods, inspection rules, signs, packaging, transportation, storage and accompanying documents of sodium iodide (thallium) scintillator and sodium iodide (thallium) scintillation detector. This standard applies to sodium iodide (thallium) scintillator and sodium iodide (thallium) scintillation detectors for measuring X and gamma rays. This standard does not apply to sodium iodide (thallium) scintillators and sodium iodide (thallium) scintillation detectors with special requirements or special applications (such as for CT).
