Scope
1.1 General This voluntary specification establishes the minimum requirements for dimensional stability, impact resistance, weatherability, heat resistance, weight tolerance and lead compound content of ASA or ASA Blended PVC capped ABS, for exterior profile extrusions used in windouw, doors and skylights. These include profiles used as frames, sash and all structural profiles related to glass retention and/or profiles that structurally divide lites within a common master frame. 1.2 Terminology In this specification, "shall" is used to express a requirement, i.e., a provision that the user is obliged to satisfy in order to comply with the specification ;"should" is used to express a recommendation or that which is advised but not required;"shall be permitted to be" is used to express an option or that which is permissible within the limits of the specification ; and "can" is used to express possibility or capability. Notes accompanying sections do not include requirements or alternative requirements; the purpose of a note accompanying a sectionis to separate explanatory or informative material from the text. Section 0 and any Notes not attached to figures and tables are non-mandatory. 1.3 Units of Measure The values given in SI (metric) units are the standard. The values given in parentheses are for information only. Users of this specification should test only to exact conversions of the SI values.
