Scope

This standard specifies the magnetic particle testing and evaluation methods for internal combustion engine crankshafts and camshafts. This standard is applicable to the inspection and assessment of surface and near-surface defects of crankshafts and camshafts of reciprocating internal combustion engines with cylinder diameters less than or equal to 200mm.
