Scope
1.1.1 Equipment included in scope Addition: At the end of the subclause, add the following new paragraph and two notes: This Part applies to any of the above equipment that is RATED for use by persons under the age of 18 years in educational establishments and under the supervision of a competent person. The equipment might not necessarily be used in a formal laboratory. NOTE 1 In this context, laboratory equipment does not include equipment for forming or machining resistant materials. NOTE 2 If all or part of the equipment falls within the scope of one or more Part 2 standards of BS EN 61010 as well as within the scope of this Draft for Development, it will also need to meet the requirements of those Part 2 standards. 1.2.1 Aspects included in scope Addition: Add the following new note, and renumber the existing note as note 1: NOTE 2 Attention is also drawn to the existence of additional requirements that can be specified by national authorities responsible for the health and safety of persons in education with special needs.
