- This standard specifies the flattening test method for determining the plastic deformation capacity of metal tubes of circular cross-section, including showing their defects. This standard applies to metal pipes with an outer diameter not exceeding 600 mm and a wall thickness not exceeding 15% of the outer diameter. The outer diameter and wall thickness range of metal pipes applicable to this standard can be specified in more detail in relevant product standards.
