Scope: This standard is applicable to discontinuous magnetic flux leakage detection on the upper and lower surfaces of the base material of ferromagnetic metal tank bottom plates in newly manufactured and on-site ferromagnetic metal storage tanks where the working medium is gas or liquid and the working pressure is normal pressure or low pressure less than 0.1MPa. For newly manufactured storage tanks, volume defects such as mechanical damage on the bottom plate base material are mainly found. For storage tanks in use, volumetric defects such as corrosion and mechanical damage on the base metal of the base plate are mainly found. This standard is not applicable to the detection of welds on the bottom plate of storage tanks. This standard does not establish evaluation criteria. The specific criteria are determined by the inspection Both parties and users have agreed that this standard does not provide safety requirements for testing. All parties using this standard are obliged to establish appropriate safety and health guidelines before testing.
