Scope

This standard specifies the test methods and requirements for the MGCP protocol between the media gateway and the media gateway controller (or softswitch equipment). This standard applies to media gateways, integrated access devices (IAD), IP telephone terminals, media servers, media gateway controllers and softswitch equipment that support the MGCP protocol.
