Scope

This chapter of GB 19212.1-2003 is replaced by the following content: This part specifies the safety requirements for various aspects of transformers (for example: electrical, temperature and mechanical aspects). This section applies to stationary or mobile, single-phase or multi-phase, air-cooled (natural or forced cooling), supporting or independent autotransformers, whose rated power supply voltage does not exceed AC 1000V, and its rated frequency does not exceed 500V. Hz. The core capacity shall not exceed: - 1kVA for single-phase autotransformers; - 5kVA for multi-phase autotransformers. The rated output shall not exceed: - 20 kVA for single-phase autotransformers; - 100 kVA for multi-phase autotransformers. This part also applies to autotransformers with a core capacity up to 40 kVA, however, such transformers are considered as special transformers and must be negotiated between the user and the manufacturer. This particular autotransformer has no rated output limitation. No-load output voltage and rated output voltage should not exceed AC 1000V or ripple-free DC 1415V. For independent autotransformers, the no-load output voltage and rated output voltage should not be lower than AC 50 V or ripple-free DC 120 V. This part applies to transformers used in occasions where insulation between circuits is not required according to installation regulations or equipment specifications. This section applies to dry-type transformers. Its windings can be hermetically sealed or unsealed. This standard applies to transformers containing electronic circuits. This standard does not apply to external circuits and their components intended to be connected to the input terminals and output terminals or sockets of the transformer. This section does not apply to variable autotransformers specified in IEC 60989.
