Scope: This standard specifies the approximate calibration method for the typical material capacity that can be held by the backhoe bucket and grab bucket (see circle 1) of hydraulic excavators and backhoe loaders. Capacity calibration is determined based on the inner wall size of the bucket and the volume of material at the tip of the pile. The calibration method of bucket capacity is to divide the materials contained in the bucket as an aggregate into several simple geometric shapes. The purpose of this standard is to provide a unified calibration method for comparing bucket capacities, rather than to determine the actual bucket capacity in various usage situations. This standard does not apply to buckets of mechanical excavators.
