Scope: This standard specifies the radiation protection requirements for ionization smoke detector products and their production, storage, transportation, sales, installation, use, maintenance, dismantling and washing, and disposal, as well as the radiation protection inspection requirements for products. This standard is applicable to practices involving ionization smoke detectors and their sealed sources that may cause exposure to personnel, but not applicable to radiation protection in the production of sealed radioactive sources for ionization smoke detectors.
