- This standard specifies the requirements, test methods, inspection rules and marking, packaging, transportation and storage of 3-dimethylaminopropylamine (also known as: N,N-dimethyl-1,3-propanediamine). This standard is applicable to the preparation of 3-dimethylaminopropylamine by condensation of acrylonitrile and dimethylamine, followed by catalytic hydrogenation. The products are mainly used in the production of propyl betaine, cocamidopropyl dimethyl tertiary amine (PKO), galvanizing additives, flocculants, epoxy resin curing agents, permethiocarb, solvents, etc.
