Scope

This part specifies the technical requirements for the installation, use, maintenance and repair of the 406MHz satellite emergency electronic position indicating beacon (EPIRB) (hereinafter referred to as the satellite position indicating beacon). This section applies to the range specified in JT/T 680.1, and also applies to satellite position indicating beacons with an operating frequency of 406MHz and 12.5MHz.
