- This specification stipulates the requirements that statutory metrology and verification institutions must meet to obtain authorization from the government's metrological administrative department to carry out tasks such as value transfer, quantity value traceability, commodity quantity testing, and measuring instrument type evaluation, as well as the procedures and assessments for the assessment of statutory metrology and verification institutions. Methods for evaluating results. This specification applies to the assessment, supervision and inspection of statutory metrological verification institutions by the government metrology administrative departments, and also applies to the authorized assessment, supervision and inspection of other metrological technical institutions that apply to undertake tasks such as verification, commodity quantity testing and measuring instrument type evaluation ( The statutory metrological verification institutions and other metrological technical institutions referred to in this specification are hereinafter referred to as "institutions"). This specification applies to organizations establishing and operating management systems, but it does not require organizations to change the structure or documents of their management systems according to the structure of this specification. The structure of an organization's management system documentation should be appropriate to its specific activities. When an organization is not engaged in metrological calibration, type evaluation, commodity quality testing, etc., the requirements can be tailored, but the trimming is limited to those in Chapter 7 of this specification that do not affect the organization's ability to provide services that meet the requirements of customers and applicable laws and regulations or Terms of Liability.
