Scope

This standard specifies a nomenclature system for thermoplastic elastomers based on the chemical composition of a single polymer or a composite polymer system. This standard defines terms and abbreviations used in industry, commerce and government to identify mature plastic elastomers. However, the intent of this standard is not to conflict with existing trade names and trademarks, but to complement them.
