- Scope
- This standard provides the recommended procedures for on-site inspection and testing of new oil well tubular goods (OCTG), and provides the operation methods and techniques for common oil field inspections, some of which are also applicable to factory inspections. This standard includes the qualifications of inspectors, various inspection methods, operating procedures and calibration procedures of instruments used, evaluation of defects and identification of inspected pipes. This standard is intended as a guide for field inspection and testing of new oil wells (OCTG), and is not applicable as a basis for acceptance (because of the relevant purchase contract regulations, see 5.4.2).
