ISO 4568:2006 PDF

Scope: This standard specifies the requirements for the design, structure, safety, performance and acceptance testing of windlass and anchor winches. This standard applies to windlass and anchor winches driven by electric, hydraulic, steam or external force on seagoing ships. For anchor handling and mooring combination machines, in addition to this standard, ISO 3730 should also be referred to. Note 1: The "windlass" referred to in this article should be understood as "windlass and anchor winch" where appropriate. Note 2: Attention should be paid to the requirements of the relevant classification society or flag state government.
